Bio

Megan Anderson is a student composer at Michigan State University. She grew up in the Chicago suburbs, where she was first introduced to music as an oboist. Now, Megan is finishing up her Bachelor’s of Music in Composition with a minor in Arts & Cultural Management. After graduation, Megan plans to research and visit graduate schools to apply for her master’s for fall 2020.

Megan has written many chamber pieces, along with some solo pieces and a piece for full orchestra. Her English horn quintet, After Your Dreams, was selected as a winner of the 2018 Jere Hutcheson Composition Competition at Michigan State. Megan currently studies with Dr. Ricardo Lorenz and has previously studied with Dr. David Biedenbender and Dr. Alexis Bacon.
